New Year's Blog Hop ~ New Year's Eve Traditions

When I was young, of course late night parties and drinking were par for the course on New Year's Eve. But no matter where I was, it was tradition to call home and wish Mom Happy New Year at midnight. Even though she was an 'early to bed' kind of gal the other three hundred sixty-four nights of the year, she was always awake.

When I became the mom the tradition became more low-key. As babies, they were always in tucked sound asleep in bed long before the ball drop in NYC's Times Square. As gradeschoolers they would try to stay awake with me, and it was always fun to guess which one was going to crash first--usually while we were watching favorite movies and eating ourselves silly on junk food.

My children are now young adults, or almost a young adult. The tradition of a low-key New Year's Eve has stuck with me. I tuck myself in on the couch with a couple of movies and a bag of favorite salty snacks and enjoy the last moments of--or wave good riddance to--the previous year. And then I watch the ball drop and answer the phone as the kids call in to wish me Happy New Year.

What is your New Year's Eve tradition?

Even the most dedicated Dom/sub couples are subject to the pitfalls of domesticity. Right?

Owen and Grace's kinky life has become a thing of the past. A year has passed since Owen's job moved him to a new city and away from all of their old friends. New city, new friends, new house--no play. And it's making both of them really cranky.

After Grace attempts to take matters into her own hands on their tenth wedding anniversary, Owen realizes he's failing her as her Dom. He comes up with just the thing to get them back on track--a surprise custom made to keep his feisty little sub bound and begging for more for years to come. At least if everything goes to plan.
